Mojave National Park - California

Another desert national park that is a great place to camp and spend time is Mojave National Park. This park has so much to offer. Singing sand dunes, Joshua tree forests, mountains, and volcanic cinder cones are just some of what you can see here. As in most desert parks, the temperatures are much nicer this time of the year than in the regular tourists season. If you take time to really visit, you will see long-abandoned mines, homesteads, and military posts.

This place appeals to us because it is so big, and you do not see anyone else. The sky is so big at night and so full of stars. It is a good ways from any city, so be sure to pack what you need before you go camping here. One thing we always carry plenty of is water. We always take our hiking water filter and our portable water treatment with us, but we also make sure to have a five-gallon container with us, also. We also take our freeze-dried food so that we are not so dependent on ice to keep food. This is one place it takes more than one trip to see!
